The phenomenon of "self-awareness" has been pondered by scientists, philosophers, and theologians. The late Francis Crick, co-discoverer of the "double helix," spent many of his last hours studying this subject. A search on the web will reveal many discussions and insights...yet it seems we are no closer to a fundamental understanding.
In the meanwhile, the above publications offer interesting takes on the subject. I will also offer my own reflections on the ability to reflect in future postings on this page.
